WeArt is run by Hannah Cawthorne, a Lincolnshire based artist and educator who loves to inspire people to unleash their creativity!

What makes Hannah’s classes special is that she uses the “process art” approach – this means that children (and adults!) are encouraged to experiment and explore their own ideas and the properties of the materials they are using in an open ended way that can be developed in lots of different directions. This approach is child-centric; is it guided by their own ideas and interests and is about developing them as truly creative-minded individuals, rather than just producing “copies” of things they have been shown how to achieve. Encouraging the creative spirit of experimentation and the development of ideas is what WeArt is all about!

Classes of 1-2 hours each week.

Special one-off events for a select group of pupils.

Using art to explore and illuminate other topics, or special workshops built around the work of a particular artist or an artistic technique. The possibilities are endless!

I♥Art can help your students add something very special to your school to commemorate a special occasion. This could be a painted mural or perhaps something a bit more unusual!

Multi- sensory, messy play fun for babies and up! Activities can include painting, play-dough sculptures, junk modelling, printmaking, cutting, gluing, drawing…the sky’s the limit!

Hire WeArt to provide art workshops to keep children entertained at festivals and community events, to run holiday clubs or to provide themed workshops for all ages to run alongside your special occasion. Whatever your event, we can work together to provide the perfect arty activity to get people engaged and to enhance what you are offering them!

Meet Hannah

Hannah Cawthorne

Since graduating from University in Fine Art and English I’ve worked in a variety of roles, all in the general area of working with children and young people, and lots of them offering the opportunity to help them get arty and creative.

I have been a Primary School Teacher, Youth Worker, English as an Additional Language Co-Ordinator (Secondary School), Residential Support Worker for Looked After Children, Kindergarten Teacher (in Budapest, Hungary!) and a Teaching Assistant.

Alongside my work with children, I have a parallel “career” as an artist. I have had several solo exhibitions and have taken part in group shows in lots of different parts of the UK. Whilst living in Manchester I was part of the art academy at legendary artist-led creative space Islington Mill, an artists’ collective who meet regularly to share their practice, critique each other’s work, meet visiting artists in residence and generally learn from and with each other. I undertook a week-long residency at Islington Mill that culminated in an exhibition in 2015.

Since moving to Lincoln in 2015 I’ve had a solo show as well as being in two group shows at the St Martin’s gallery. I have also become a regular at the art group that meets at the church in the same square.

Let’s get arty together!
